Tailored Training

“Our concept of Mattering brings together the core elements of emotional care, skills, quality of life and environment with the culture of a shared community, thereby evidencing individuals matter.”    Dr David Sheard

Consultancy support enables a service to work through the implications of implementing operational changes. This is done by drawing on consultants' expertise in making change happen. The aim of our consultancy support is to help a service to develop its own in house expertise.

Dementia Care Matters focuses in house training only on areas where it is advantageous to bring staff together in groups to explore new ways of working. A group of colleagues learning together helps to ensure that the learning is put into practice through establishing shared aims, exploring new ideas together and developing team based commitment to action.

We are committed to developing new areas of work in dementia care and through our team of Consultant trainers we seek new areas of practice development.

Recent innovations have been in leading a review of Supported Housing for people living with a dementia, leading national launches examining 'Being in Touch - the use of expressive touch in dementia care, 'examining the role of '  Safeguarding Emotions in Dementia Care' and developing more accessible services for people living with a dementia in Museum and Library services.
