BSc or MSc in Professional Practice (Dementia Care) – University of Surrey

General Information

A pathway of learning is available to enable specialist workers in dementia care to enhance their practice with people living with a dementia and their family carers. An attractive feature of the pathway is that it is strongly practice orientated and draws on student’s professional experience and expertise to help them develop effective strategies and interventions. The pathway offers a flexible approach to learning that can fit with the working life of most people using modules delivered by both Dementia Care Matters and University of Surrey.

Dementia Care Matters works with the Division of Health and Social Care, University of Surrey where David Sheard, has an appointment as a Visiting Senior Fellow. Dementia Care Matters and the University of Surrey has a comprehensive range of training leading to eligibility for CAT points towards an MSc or BSC in Professional Practice (Dementia Care).

University of Surrey provides a BSc and MSc where participants are able to build a portfolio of attendance on Dementia Care Matters courses which are eligible for CAT points towards these higher degree programmes. Interested participants would also need to combine attendance on Dementia Care Matters courses with some short attendance on university modules.
