- Northamptonshire Social Care and Health

Many authorities are seeking to develop partnerships in the independent sector to stimulate the provision of specialist residential dementia care.

Drawing on Dementia Care Matters experience in this field working with a number of authorities and from our direct hands on experience with Merevale House our work with Northamptonshire County council has focused on:

Facilitating workshops on holistic dementia care for partners across health and social services to develop a shared vision of a future model

Working with contracts managers to develop a tender specification

Considering within inspection services locally the implications of this development

Advising on the development of the training specification

Successfully tendering to provide over the next year eight four-day workshops as an incentive/trigger for providers to consider developing this model of care.
