Leadership Matters in Person Centred Dementia Care (C18)

Five day workshop held in 2 parts and accredited by the University of Surrey.

This workshop is designed specifically for managers and staff with a leadership responsibility who wish to discover the essential key ingredients to achieving real change in care cultures. Accredited by University of Surrey, the workshop will demonstrate how an experiential approach to leadership can improve every aspect of a care service.

Working alongside people with dementia is now seen as a positive, focused, complex and fulfilling area of care practice. Making person centred care a reality can be challenging.

Managers, Team leaders and Senior Care staff need to be energized and to have space to consider how to merge best practice in person-centred dementia care with the best leadership approaches in order to model excellence in dementia care with their colleagues and staff teams.

The key elements of this five-day workshop are to help leaders identify:

  • What being a person centred leader / manager involves
  • The features of a new culture leader in dementia care
  • Practices of effective leaders in person centred dementia care
  • What person centred dementia care looks, sounds and feels like
  • Bringing together the key indicators of person centred care
  • Opportunities to reflect on yourself, your leadership style in dementia care and key priorities in the service you lead.
